Carbon Fixation Leads a 5 party collaboration in the Food Tech Sector

Carbon fixation leads the way with a five party collaboration arranged by TES ( www.tes.today)

Forest Hill is a five party collaboration arranged by the Eco system (TES) focused on a clean efficient and localized agricultural project to grow, distribute and consume healthy food for the GCC. A vertically integrated model that is steeped in technology yet is proven, simplistic and completely efficient.

Sahara Forest Project is a proven technology based on smart delivery of salt water into desalination plants run via solar powered units inside a greenhouse growing fruit and vegetable in the desert. The Sahara Forest Project proposes to use restorative practices to establish vegetation in arid areas and reverse the trend of desertification. This process of restorative growth will be catalyzed by combining already existing and proven environmental technologies, such as the evaporation of saltwater to create cooling and distilled fresh water (i.e. in a saltwater cooled greenhouse) and solar thermal energy technologies. The technological combination in The Sahara Forest Project is designed to utilize what we have enough of to produce what we need more of, using deserts, saltwater and CO2 to produce food, freshwater and energy.

The Sahara Forest Project proposes to establish groups of interconnected economic activities in different low-lying desert areas around the world. The simple core of the concept is an infrastructure for bringing saltwater inland.

A Sahara Forest Project facility will be successful only when it is well integrated with the local communities. In addition to mitigating effects of climate change and contributing to conflict reduction in resource-scarce areas, the SFP facilities will provide employment for both high- and low-skilled workers. Programs and facilities for knowledge transfer and training will be established to ensure that long-term social and economic development opportunities are created.

The Sahara Forest Project is not too good to be true. It is an integrated system designed to harvest technological synergies while minimizing waste. The design is founded on the premise that we must find a more holistic approach to successfully tackle challenges related to energy, food, and water security.

In 2011 The Sahara Forest Project AS entered into cooperation with Yara ASA, the world’s largest supplier of fertilizer and the Qatari company Qafco, the world’s largest single site producer of urea and ammonia. After successfully completing a comprehensive feasibility study on Qatar, the parties signed an agreement to build the first fully operational Sahara Forest Project Pilot Plant in Qatar. The agreement was signed in February 2012 with H.E. Prime Minister of Norway Jens Stoltenberg and H.E. Prime Minister of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani presiding over the closing.

After an intense construction period The Sahara Forest Project Facility became operational in December 2012. The Sahara Forest Project pilot facility in Qatar provides a unique research platform to demonstrate and optimize environmental technologies that will enable restorative growth in desert areas around the world.

The work done at the Qatar pilot by Yara, Qafco, the SFP research staff, and by members of a large international network of scientific collaborators, will lay sound scientific foundations for bringing restorative growth to Qatar and to deserts around the world. www.saharaforestproject.com

Carbon Fixation is a private equity structure seeking projects that are fiscally independent and profitable without the reliance on the carbon credit market. The possibility of credits at some future point is seen as a long-term kicker and not the driver. Instead of focusing on the carbon credit market, which is still in its infancy and largely, un-established at a government level Carbon Fixation understands that common sense and good business practice can be employed with less risk and more certainty. Forest hill proves that case. www.carbonfixation.com

Estfresh is an integrated healthcare service that makes healthy food cool. A fast food concept that uses all the elements of today’s society to defocus on ‘healthy’ and promote the focus on ‘cool’. Estfresh is a data driven healthcare service fronted by fast "healthy" food that makes data the enabler to drive and direct healthcare policy in its host country. Diabetes is a global issue, however in the GCC it is severe. Estfresh is a long-term solution to diabetes based on the food that we consume being the single factor to trigger genetic diabetes. www.estfresh.com

Desert Hill Fund is focused private equity structure that brings projects in diverse sectors to Kurdistan. The region of Kurdistan like many others in the Middle East import most of their food, for Kurdistan it is for different reasons than neighboring countries. Kurdistan actually has the environment to grow almost anything and feed the region, therefore converting over time the import of basic commodities to exporting them. DHF has joined this collaboration to further that long term planning by owning a stake in Forest Hill and becoming one of the main drivers via the DHF management team. www.deserthillfund.com

Gro Genesis is a natural fertilizer with a patented technology that will allow faster more efficient and decease free growth of crops via the Sahara Forest technology. The Company’s patent-pending AgraBurst™ product dramatically stimulates nutrient and water uptake in plants. It’s a plant-based extract that is non-toxic, non-GMO, carcinogen-free, biodegradable and safe for use in all soil conditions.

Unlike fertilizers, AgraBurst™ amplifies the plant's natural capacity to absorb nutrients through its own foliage while augmenting root development and soil uptake. AgraBurst™ speeds nutrient transport at the cellular level, resulting in improved photosynthesis and increased absorption of the primary keys to growth: water, sugars, and minerals. www.gro-genesis.com

Froinor is a long established food manufacturer and distributor from Norway; they have enormous experience in the frozen food industry since the 1950’s. Froinor UK has the rights to the brand and name for frozen food in the UK but Froinor also conducts non frozen food related business globally. Their global network, contracts and contacts are invaluable to Forest Hill as they already supply many of the GCC countries with a variety of food and this infrastructure and internal distribution can be taken by Forest Hill.

Forest Hill is now listing a convertible note bearing a 4% coupon on the Irish Stock Exchange for institutional investors to fund up to 120,000,000 GBP to implement mass agricultural growth in the GCC to begin the long process of reducing imports in favor of locally grown healthy food. The impact of the Forest Hill Initiative will be felt not only in the Middle East but around the globe, Forest Hill has been created by collaboration and in collaboration it will expand into a global brand for a new environmentally aware and suitable agriculture. Combining technology and know how with expertise and common sense builds a conscious business that speaks to everyone from the investment community to the consumer. www.foresthillfund.com (site not yet built)
